ChatGPT Why this is harder than it should be.
X caps you at 800 bookmarks. The 801st pushes the oldest off the end. Native search only matches the words you remember typing, and on Android there is no search at all. CSV exports give you a flat file no one ever opens. You bookmark, you forget, you lose.
How it works, in three steps.
- Install for Chrome (one click) Add the free ContextBolt extension. No account, no credit card, no API keys. Works in Chrome, Brave, Arc, and Edge.
- Browse X normally Every bookmark is captured, the full text indexed, and AI-tagged by topic. No folders to pick, no tags to type.
- Search instantly, or ask Claude Find bookmarks by topic, because AI tagged every one of them, with search that runs on your device and forgives typos. Pro users get an MCP endpoint so Claude and Cursor can search them by meaning mid-conversation.
Pro adds a personal MCP endpoint, so Claude, Cursor or Codex can search these saves in a conversation. How the connection works
Built to find, not just to store.
Real users. Real libraries.
Chrome Web Store 5.0 from 7 ratings 300+ users. Free, and yours to keep even if you never pay a cent. See the listing As an X/Twitter user, I’ve bookmarked close to 2,000 tweets, posts, videos and articles over the years. The problem is there isn’t an easy or straightforward way for me to extract, summarise, or synthesise the content I find insightful… ContextBolt solves this challenge for me.
Common questions.
Is it really free?
Yes. The Basic tier is free and covers up to 150 bookmarks with AI tagging, topic clustering, and instant local search. No credit card needed. Pro is $6 per month for unlimited bookmarks plus the personal MCP endpoint, which is where semantic search lives, and cloud sync.
Do I need to give X my password?
No. ContextBolt is a browser extension that reads the bookmark page you are already logged into. Your X password never touches our servers. There is no OAuth, no API key.
Will it slow my browser down?
No. The extension does its work in a service worker, separate from the page you are viewing. Tagging and embeddings run on our servers, not in the tab.
What happens to bookmarks I had before installing?
When you next visit your X bookmarks page, ContextBolt walks the full list (no 800-cap, because it reads the rendered page, not the API) and back-fills your library.
How do I connect it to Claude or Cursor?
Pro users add https://api.contextbolt.app/mcp to their AI app, then complete OAuth sign-in with their extension account email, the email code, and approval. Existing personal URLs still work for older clients. See /docs/connect-your-agent/ for setup.
