Add the server in Cursor In .cursor/mcp.json or ~/.cursor/mcp.json, add this under mcpServers: {"contextbolt-seo":{"url":"https://seo.contextbolt.app/mcp"}}. Use a current version with remote MCP OAuth support.

Authenticate in MCP settings Find contextbolt-seo in Cursor's MCP settings and select Authenticate. Sign in on the ContextBolt page with your SEO subscription email, enter the email code, and approve the connection.

After saving, select Authenticate in Cursor’s MCP settings and complete the ContextBolt email-code sign-in. The shared URL contains no personal token. Common questions.

Where exactly does the config go?

Cursor reads MCP servers from ~/.cursor/mcp.json for global use, or .cursor/mcp.json inside a project for that workspace only. Add contextbolt-seo under the mcpServers object with your URL, then enable it in Settings, MCP.

The server shows up but the tools are greyed out. Why?

Enable the server in Cursor's MCP settings, then choose Authenticate and finish the ContextBolt email-code sign-in. Check that your SEO trial or subscription is active. Use https://seo.contextbolt.app/mcp with no token suffix for OAuth.

Where does my research get saved?

To your ContextBolt account, and it shows up on your SEO Dashboard, a private page that fills itself as you work. It is one URL, so the research follows you between machines and between agents instead of living in one project folder. Saving is free and never counts against your 1,000 monthly credits.

How many credits does a question cost?

Research tools cost one credit each. Backlink tools cost three each. The plan includes 1,000 a month, top-ups never expire, and checking your balance is free.

Can I keep my token out of a shared repo?

Yes. The shared OAuth URL contains no personal token. Cursor stores the resulting credentials separately. If you use an older personal URL instead, keep that private URL out of committed project files.
