Connect your ContextBolt account For OAuth, add https://seo.contextbolt.app/mcp and complete sign-in with your SEO account email and email code, then allow access. If your client cannot complete OAuth, follow the personal-URL compatibility steps on this page. Get that private URL from your ContextBolt SEO welcome email. Use one connection method.

The longer story.

OpenClaw is the always-on agent from Peter Steinberger. It runs as a long-lived gateway, talks to you on Telegram, Slack, Discord, WhatsApp and a dozen other channels, and can fire work on a heartbeat. It used to be called Clawdbot, then Moltbot. Same software.

It is not an SEO product. Official OpenClaw docs describe MCP as the way the agent borrows tools from another program. That is the whole setup. You connect a data source, then you decide what the agent is allowed to do with it.

ContextBolt SEO is a hosted SEO MCP server. OpenClaw’s remote transport for that shape is Streamable HTTP.

Add it from the CLI

Use https://seo.contextbolt.app/mcp and complete the browser sign-in if your client supports remote MCP with OAuth. Enter your SEO account email and email code, then allow the connection. For a client that cannot complete that flow, use the personal-URL compatibility configuration shown here. Copy the full private URL from your ContextBolt SEO welcome email and replace the example URL with it.

The probe is not optional. OpenClaw’s own docs say saving a definition proves nothing about reachability. If the doctor lists keyword and SERP tools, you are connected.

Same thing from the Control UI: Settings, MCP, Add server, Streamable HTTP, paste the URL. Already-running Gateway processes may need openclaw mcp reload or a restart before they see it.

No Authorization header. The token is in the path. Keep that URL out of public repos and out of screenshots.

Common questions.

Where does the OpenClaw MCP config live?

Under mcp.servers in ~/.openclaw/openclaw.json. The CLI command openclaw mcp add writes that block for you. Remote servers use url plus transport streamable-http. Run openclaw mcp doctor NAME --probe after you add one, because saving a definition does not prove the server is reachable.

Was this called Clawdbot or Moltbot?

Yes. OpenClaw shipped as Warelay, became Clawdbot, was renamed Moltbot in January 2026 after a trademark complaint, then settled on OpenClaw days later. Same project, same MCP config. If you still have moltbot.json or clawdbot paths from an old install, the current file is ~/.openclaw/openclaw.json.

Do I need a header besides the URL?

No. The token sits in the URL path, so you do not add an Authorization header. ContextBolt SEO is already a public HTTPS endpoint, which is what OpenClaw needs for a remote server. A localhost MCP would not work from a remote Gateway.

How do skills and MCP work together?

MCP gives OpenClaw the tools. A SKILL.md file tells the agent when and how to use them. You can connect ContextBolt SEO with no skill at all and just ask. A small skill that says 'research keywords before you draft, and never publish without approval' is how you keep the agent in the driver's seat.
